Virginia Wine Board Grants
The Virginia Wine Board funds grants for research, education, and marketing initiatives that further the Virginia Wine industry. In addition, VWB funds matching marketing grants through the Wine Marketing Office.
Virginia Wine Board Grants
The FY26-27 Virginia Wine Board grant cycle awarded approximately $400,000, emphasizing research to address Virginia challenges in wine grape growing, build technical understanding of Virginia Wine and cider characteristics, and educate Virginia’s wine industry.
The FY27-28 grant cycle is anticipated to open for pre-proposals in October 2026 for project ideas that support the Virginia Wine Vision.

Matching Marketing Grants
In addition, funding is available in 1:1 matching grants for novel marketing initiatives that have at least 3 financially participating parties. Read the full announcement here. Previous grants have supported regional wine events, media and trade tastings, and the creation of regional marketing collaborations. Applications are due in spring to AnnetteBoyd@virginiawine.org. Awarded matching marketing grants run July 1 through May 30.

Created by the Virginia General Assembly in 1984 as part of Virginia’s Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the Virginia Wine Board promotes the interests of vineyards and wineries in the Commonwealth through research, education and marketing.
